Ants

Many kinds of ants can become a nuisance in homes and other buildings. Most indoor ant problems originate from outdoor locations. Once they enter a building they may establish colonies in wall voids, behind baseboards, and even in hollow doors. Often however, ants are living outdoors and only entering buildings to forage for food. The key to controlling ants is understanding how they live, how they behave, and what they need to survive.

Ants are social by nature, living in colonies where their queen(s) produce eggs that will either become regular worker ants or swarmers (ants with wings). These swarmers are responsible for migrating away from their home colonies, breeding, and starting new colonies.

These pests invade homes in search for food, because most ants tend to feed on the same food that we consume. Once an ant finds a particular food their colony desires, it lays down a scent that the rest of their colony can follow to get it. Simple ways to prevent this include keeping food in sealed containers and cleaning off your dishes and countertops frequently. However, in more extreme circumstances, you may need to call in the professionals, who have both the knowledge and the means to fight off these uninvited guests and keep your house pest-free.
